Marina is a Georgia native, and received her B.S. in Biology from the University of St Andrews. She is a fifth-year PhD candidate in Biology, studying the evolutionary origins of biodiversity. Outside of work, she enjoys native plants, community organizing, and exploring around Atlanta. Her advice to incoming graduate students is to be willing to do things badly rather than not at all.
