Georgia Tech offers Institute-level and department-level application fee waivers to qualifying applicants. Read the information below to determine if you qualify for an application fee waiver.

How to Request a Waiver

The process for requesting a waiver and submitting the required documentation is part of the online Graduate Admission application, and can be found on the Payment Information page.

  1. You must successfully complete all sections of the application before you can request an application fee waiver. This means no Required Field or Error messages on the Application Review page.
  2. After you click on Finalize and Submit, your application will remain on the payment due page while we review your request. This review period can take up to 10 business days, so please be patient and do not attempt to make a payment or to contact our office regarding your request.
  3. Once a decision is made on your fee waiver request, you will receive an email notification on next steps.

Don’t wait until the last minute. Make sure you submit your application and fee waiver request prior to the graduate program's application deadline.

Submit valid documentation at the time of application. Your fee waiver request will be denied if required documentation is not provided at the time of application.

International applicants must submit all required application materials prior to requesting a fee waiver. This includes satisfying our English proficiency requirement and meeting all of the graduate program’s minimum admission requirements. Incomplete applications will be denied an application fee waiver without consideration.

Make sure you are eligible for the fee waiver you are requesting. Applicants who select a fee waiver for which they are not eligible will have their application fee waiver request cancelled and will be responsible for making the fee payment.

Don’t pay the application fee prior to submitting your fee waiver request. We do not issue application fee refunds, so make sure you have received a decision on your application fee waiver request prior to making payment.
