Step 3: Complete Online Application

All programs use the same online graduate application, and you may apply to multiple programs across all of the Georgia Tech campuses. You do not have to finish the application in one sitting. You can save your work and log back in later to complete it.

Step 4: Submit Application Materials

Application materials can be added after you have submitted your application. Refer to your intended graduate program of study webpage to review program-specific application materials.

For your academic credentials/documents (transcripts, mark sheets, or diploma supplement) to be accepted, it's important that they're official before being scanned into a PDF file for uploading. Scanning and uploading your documents is the easiest and fastest way to submit them to our office.

Scanning and uploading your documents is the easiest and fastest way to submit them to our office. An important thing to consider is that your original documents must be officially issued*

*Officially issued means that your documents have been issued by a representative of the Academic Registrar's Office, the Examinations Office, or the equivalent office that issues official documentation of records at your university. Most often, this means that your transcript has been signed and, where appropriate, stamped by the issuing institution (e.g. controller of examination, secretary, registrar, dean or the equivalent). If a degree was awarded, please be sure that the degree conferred, and the conferral date are printed on your academic document. If it is not, you will need to upload a copy of the degree certificate along with your transcript.

If you're submitting documents using the postal or delivery service 

If for some reason you're not able to scan and upload your original documents, you can send copies of them to our office using the regular postal service or a delivery service. If this is the case, there are important things to consider when submitting them.

University documents: 

All copies of your officially issued university documents must be certified as true copies of the original. This means that the copies must be stamped and signed by the issuing institution.  Copies can only be made from the original officially issued document, for example degrees, diplomas, certificates, etc. Copies of copies will not be accepted. 

We do not accept advisor transcripts, web transcripts, student information system transcripts, or degree audits. Submitting any of these will prevent your application from moving forward in the admission review process. If you are admitted, you will be asked to provide official documents at that time. See step nine in "After You Apply" for more information on providing official transcripts.

Step 5: Verify Lawful Presence

In accordance with the University System of Georgia policy, if you are admitted to Georgia Tech and residing in the United States, you must verify your lawful presence prior to registering for classes.

If you do not live in the United States and are taking online courses with Georgia Tech, you are not required to complete lawful presence.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

To successfully submit your application for graduate admission, a non-refundable, non-transferable application fee is required for each application. The application fee is collected to help offset the cost of processing application materials.  
 
As of August 1, 2023, the fee for international applicants is $105 per application. Applications submitted without payment will not be processed. 

Application Fee Waivers: Georgia Tech provides application fee waivers to advance diversity, recognize outstanding undergraduate achievement, and engage prospective students in recruitment events where Georgia Tech is affiliated. International applicants must submit all required application materials prior to requesting a fee waiver. This includes satisfying our English proficiency requirement and meeting all of the graduate program’s minimum admission requirements. Incomplete applications will be denied an application fee waiver without consideration.
