
Saerok Jeong is a Ph.D. student in the School of Public Policy at the Georgia Institute of Technology, with an interdisciplinary background in energy economics, industrial decarbonization, and data-driven policy analysis. She has completed a Master of Arts in public policy studies at the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy. She also holds a master’s degree in Technology Management, Economics, and Policy from Seoul National University, and a bachelor’s degree in Earth Resources and Environmental Engineering from Hanyang University, where she graduated summa cum laude.
Before coming to the United States, she worked as a senior analyst at NEXT Group, an energy transition think tank in South Korea. There, she led the development of the Korean industrial decarbonization roadmap project and authored several policy briefs and reports on emission trading scheme reform and carbon contracts for difference mechanisms. She also spent time as a visiting researcher at Agora Energiewende in Berlin. Her earlier experience includes working as a credit analyst at Korea Investors Service which is an affiliate of Moody's Ratings.
