Learn how to survive a “zombie apocalypse” in a Living Building. While zombies may not be real, there have been many natural disasters of late that have had harmful impacts on communities. The Kendeda Building is an example of resilient infrastructure with its potable water storage, solar power system, composting toilets, and ability to grow food on its rooftop garden. This Office of Sustainability event will focus on the lessons that The Kendeda Building has taught us about sustainability, regenerative design, and the benefits of being more self-sufficient.
The agenda for the event is listed below. The event will begin with a Halloween - Zombie themed tour of The Kendeda Building followed by a small meal break. After the tour and meal, guest will split up and join one of the two pre-selected workshops. This event is open to Georgia Tech students, staff, and faculty only.

Sewing and Mending Workshop ~ 5:00 - 7:30 PM
- Free (materials will be provided at workshop)
- Learn how to mend, sew buttons, and do different stitches to fix and hold a hem.
- Learn to reduce textile waste by repairing salvageable items
- Led Atlanta Sewing Academy & ASG
The program will start promptly at 4 pm. Please meet us at The Kendeda Building at 3:45 pm to ensure we can begin the event on time.
