Credential Evaluation for International Applicants

Each year, Georgia Tech receives over 40,000 graduate applications, many from students who earned degrees outside the United States. To help us review these applications quickly and accurately, we partner with three trusted credential evaluation services:

If Your Application Is Selected for a Partner Evaluation

If you studied at a school outside the U.S., your application may be selected for evaluation by IEE. If this happens, Georgia Tech will cover the cost—you won’t need to pay anything.
To complete the evaluation, we securely share the following information with IEE:

  • Your full name
  • Date of birth
  • Email address
  • Name(s) of your international school(s) and degree(s) earned or expected
  • Transcripts and degree documents you uploaded in your application

If additional documents are needed as part of the evaluation process, they will be listed in your Applicant Experience Portal, and your application will be placed on hold until you submit the missing items.

Once the evaluation is complete, Georgia Tech will receive a report that includes:

Want to Speed Up the Review Process?

We recommend that applicants with credentials earned from outside the U.S. consider using one of our partner services before submitting an application. This can help speed up the review process.

If you choose to do this:

  • You will pay for the evaluation yourself
  • You will receive a copy of the report
  • You can send the report to other schools

Important

If Georgia Tech sends your documents to IEE as part of our review process:

  • You will not receive a copy of the evaluation
  • You will not be able to send it to other schools
