The Chih Foundation awards doctoral students whose research publication(s) reflect invention and innovation for the betterment of society.

Applicants should demonstrate a passion for research and publications that value putting the needs of others and the betterment of society above personal interests.

This award is not just for students with a stellar number of publications, or for those whose publications win accolades, high number of citations, etc. Rather, this award is first and foremost for students whose research, and associated publication, contribute to societal progress.

There will be three awards of $3,000 each.
