What documents do I need to provide to prove eligibility for in-state tuition? How do I submit them?

If we determine that additional documentation is needed, we will reach out to you via email and request specific documents. Items that we customarily ask for could be one (1) or more of the following:

Independent Student (age 24 and older): A front and back copy of your current Georgia driver's license or ID card, your voter registration card, your most recent state tax return (GA-500 form), and/or a lease/mortgage statement that places you in Georgia for at least 12 consecutive months prior to your first day of classes.

Dependent Students (under age 24): Your parent's most recent state tax return (GA-500 form) and/or a lease/mortgage statement that places your parents in Georgia for at least 12 consecutive months prior to your first day of classes.

Emancipated Students (under age 24): Any combination of the documents for Independent Students noted above. Additional documentation may be required to prove your emancipated status.

You will be asked to submit these document by uploading them to your Application Status Portal via the "Upload Materials" option on the "Checklist" tab. Select "Georgia Residency Part B" or "Other Unlisted Upload" from the dropdown menu.
