The STEM Equity Symposium is a collaboration between Georgia Tech's Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC), the College of Engineering, and the OUE Equity Collective. Our goal is to provide programming that will foster a campus culture and climate that is welcoming for all students, faculty, and staff -- especially in STEM disciplines.
The keynote presentation will be given by Dr. Ebony McGee -- professor of STEM education and Diversity at Vanderbilt University. She will highlight research from her recent book, "Black, Brown, Bruised: How Racialized STEM Education Stifles Innovation.
This will be followed by a panel of students who will share their experiences navigating STEM at Georgia Tech.
This event will be held in the Clary Theatre of the Bill Moore Student Success Center and is open to all Georgia Tech faculty, students, staff and community.
