When it comes to making a smooth transition to becoming a student at Georgia Tech, there are events, programs, and resources you'll want to take advantage of.
In addition to the orientation that your individual program might hold (which you'll want to attend), the Office of Graduate Studies hosts several orientation sessions at various times of the year to introduce you to campuswide resources and policies.
The fall 2018 orientation sessions were held from Aug. 9-21. Here's a collection of important files presented during the sessions, including the slide deck. Details for the spring 2019 orientation session will be made available later this fall.
Welcome to Tech Videos
We've also created a series of Welcome to Tech videos. Check out the one above and those listed below to help you familiarize yourself with our office and all that Tech has to offer.
- Stamps Health Services
- Office of the Registar
- Georgia Tech Police Department
- Paying for Your Education
- Counseling Center
- Professional and Career Development
- Campus Services
- Bursar and Treasury Services
Every August, we host the GradExpo resource fair to help new graduate students learn about campus services, student organizations, and local businesses in the surrounding community. Details for the fall 2019 event will be available in spring 2019
We also coordinate an extended orientation program called "Grad Groups." If you're a new graduate student looking to meet other students from across campus, this program is perfect for you. Learn from an older graduate student about what it takes to be successful at Tech and get exposure to campus departments who are here to serve your needs.
Graduate Student Welcome
Beginning in August 2018, Tech hosted its first Graduate Student Welcome for all new graduate students. The event includes a convocation followed by the Graduate Student Picnic. Check back in summer 2019 for details about the fall 2019 event.
