Orientation and GradExpo

When it comes to making a smooth transition to becoming a student at Georgia Tech, there are two events that you'll want to take part in: orientation and the GradExpo. Read on for the details you need to know about each.

In addition to the orientation that your individual program might hold (which you'll want to be sure to attend), the Office of Graduate Studies also hosts several orientation sessions at various times of the year that will introduce you to Georgia Tech-wide resources.

Spring 2018 new graduate student orientation will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Student Center Theater. Advanced registration to attend is not required.
Orientation Videos

In advance of orientation, we invite you to view a collection of videos to help you familiarize yourself with the Institute and all it has to offer:

‚ÄčEvery August, the Office of Graduate Studies hosts the GradExpo event to help new graduate students learn about campus services, student organizations, and local businesses in the surrounding community. More information on the fall 2016 GradExpo event will be available in late spring.

Grad Groups

‚ÄčThe Office of Graduate Studies also coordinates an extended orientation program called Grad Groups. If you are a new graduate student looking to meet diverse graduate students from across campus, learn from an older graduate student about what it takes to be successful at Tech, and get exposure to campus departments who are here to serve your needs, Grad Groups is the place for you.
