The Georgia Gravity Games is a gravity-only car race competition sponsored by Google, Georgia Tech and the City of Douglasville. The Georgia Gravity Games are an educational, hands-on activity designed to get young people excited about STEM subjects.
This exciting event is a way students can take the concepts they learn inside the classroom and apply them in a fun way. The 2017 Georgia Gravity Games will be held on November 4, 2017 in downtown Douglasville. For more information visit: http://www.gagravitygames.com.
REGISTER YOUR TEAM
Registration for the 2017 Gravity Games is now open! Registration is free and teams are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are limits to the number of teams and participants in each of the divisions. Interested participants can register at http://www.gagravitygames.com/register.
We’re adding a new division this year for Autonomous vehicles! Spots are limited, so check out the rules and see if you qualify.
We’re also bringing back our Gravity Games Racing Video category, where teams are encouraged (but not required) to submit a YouTube video explaining what they’ve learned through the process of building their cars.
The deadline to register is Friday, Oct. 20, 2017.
PURCHASE A KIT
For kit purchases, we recommend checking out the All-American Soap Box Derby site:http://www.soapboxderby.org/.
2017 RACE INFO
Event information can be viewed on: www.gagravitygames.com. You can also find photos and video from previous year’s event, as well as FAQs and sponsorship resources.
New to this year’s Games, Science Street will feature STEM-based games and activities from nearly a dozen exhibitors for competitors and spectators to enjoy throughout the day.
NOT PARTICIPATING THIS YEAR?
While we would love for every team to return for another day of STEM-filled fun and excitement, we understand that some will not be able to compete for one reason or another. That said, there are nearly a dozen teams that are interested in participating this year, but must acquire sponsors and/or donated kits before they can move forward. If you are interested in donating your car from last year’s race, please reply to this email and let us know! We would love for as many teams to have the opportunity to enjoy the Gravity Games experience, and you can help make that happen.
If you have any questions leading up to the Games, don’t hesitate to reach out by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or visiting: www.gagravitygames.com.
We look forward to seeing you at this year’s event!
